The Misadventures of a Couple of Sea Gypsies

Welcome Aboard the Voyage of Wanderlust

Real sailing. Real seas. Real freedom.

We’re Walt & Jane, a couple of sea gypsies exploring the world on SV Wanderlust, our Passport 545 Aft Cockpit sailing yacht. And this is Voyage of Wanderlust, a space where we share the real stuff: what works offshore, what breaks, what matters, and what surprises when you’re a thousand miles from the nearest harbor. If you follow us, you'll soon discover we're NOT about curated glamour or chasing likes, just the real stuff.

Read the Blog for some quick notes or peruse the in-depth articles in WanderNotes.

We hope you enjoy sharing in our Voyage of Wanderlust!

A True Bluewater Passagemaker

Sailing across oceans isn’t just a dream—it’s a test of preparation, design, and seamanship. And for those aboard Wanderlust it’s a reality backed by decades of thoughtful design and robust construction. Conceived as a voyaging vessel for short-handed crew to safely and comfortably adventure across oceans, Wanderlust embodies what it means to be a true bluewater passagemaker.

Wanderlust is more than just a sailboat—she’s an artfully crafted instrument of exploration. Nestled in the esteemed family of Passport Yachts, she represents the culmination of visionary design and seafaring experience. As a 2014 model, Wanderlust draws from a lineage of proven long-distance performance cruisers but introduces critical updates in hull shape and rig design while retaining the classic styling and comfort that sets Passport Yachts apart. Every angle, line, and system reflects input from sailors who’ve spent months—if not years—crossing oceans.

Where is Wanderlust?

Exploring the Tuamotus

After sailing from New Zealand to French Polynesia, we spent a little time in Tahiti resting and taking care of a few boat issues. After saying good-bye to a few crew that fell in love with Tahiti, Jane, Flurina, and Walt sailed to Rangiroa, the largest atoll of the Tuamotus and the second largest atoll in the world.

It has been a great couple of weeks here and soon we'll continue on to Kauehi and other atolls.
